About Us
Our Story, Our Vision, Our Values
Who We Are
Striving for Inclusion is a community-led organisation working to ensure that every child, regardless of their background or needs, can grow, learn, wonder, and feel truly included.
We are rooted in diverse communities across the UK and internationally. Some of our children face:
- Learning difficulties that go unnoticed or misunderstood at school.
- Cultural conflict at home, where traditions clash with modern expectations.
- Isolation and shame, especially for those with autism, ADHD, or emotional needs.
- Situations that could be avoided with strong support at home and in school.
These challenges don’t stem from a lack of love or potential—but from a lack of access, understanding, and support.
That’s why we do what we do:
- We create safe, joyful spaces for learning and cultural exploration.
- We equip parents with tools to support their children and preserve cultural roots.
- We train educators in inclusive practices, especially in Senegal.
Our Vision
To create an inclusive and thriving community where children and families from all backgrounds in the UK are empowered to excel academically, socially, and personally, regardless of barriers such as Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Our Mission
To provide tailored educational support and resources to children and young people while equipping parents with the skills and knowledge to support their children’s growth and development effectively. We aim to improve educational outcomes and strengthen community bonds by fostering a collaborative and nurturing environment.
Our Core Values
Inclusion
“Everyone belongs.”
We welcome and support every child and parent, no matter their abilities, background, or challenges. We create safe, respectful spaces where all voices are heard and valued, especially those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Empowerment
“We grow stronger together.”
We help children, parents, and educators gain the confidence, skills, and knowledge to face challenges and achieve their goals. We believe in building people up through encouragement, education, and opportunities.
Community
“We are more effective as a family.”
We connect families, schools, and communities to create a strong support system. By working together and sharing knowledge, we create a sense of belonging and shared responsibility for every child’s success.
Education
“Learning opens doors.”
We believe education is a right, not a privilege. Through reading, learning games, and culturally rooted teaching, we help children and parents discover the power of knowledge for lifelong success.
Empathy
“We lead with kindness and understanding.”
We listen without judgment and act with care. Whether supporting a parent who feels lost or a child who learns differently, we meet people where they are, with patience, empathy, and respect.
Equity
"Everyone receives what they need to succeed."
We make sure that resources, opportunities, and support are adapted to each person's specific needs.
